The inner cable of this rear brake cable assembly measures approximately 203 cm, while the black outer housing measures 188.5 cm. It transmits the pull from the mechanical brake lever to the rear caliper.

The housing should follow the existing route without sharp bends and must not restrict handlebar movement. Also compare the barrel end and the inner wire diameter, which is approximately 1.5 mm.

Smooth cable movement and correct adjustment

• Replace the cable assembly if the wire is frayed or corroded, the housing is damaged, or the cable sticks. Check that the brake lever and caliper mechanism return freely.
• Route the cable along the existing path, seat the housing ends correctly and adjust the tension at the caliper. Cut the cable only after checking its length, then fit an end cap.
• Check braking, free wheel rotation and sufficient slack when turning the handlebars. Check the adjustment after initial use, as the cable assembly may settle.
