Headset bearing kit with seat parts

The kit contains two bearings with red seals, along with the corresponding black seats and split rings. It is intended for the restoration of the compatible upper and lower headset assembly.

Approximate dimensions

• Bearing: inner diameter 30.2 mm, outer diameter 41 mm, height 6.5 mm.
• Bearing seat: inner diameter 34.2 mm, outer diameter 49.6 mm, height 10 mm.
• Split ring: inner diameter 30 mm, outer diameter 39.9 mm, height 4.2 mm.

Individual bearing measures approximately 30.2 × 41 × 6.5 mm. Before disassembly, note the order of parts; a incorrectly oriented ring can cause play or sticking in the handlebars even with new bearings.

Headset assembly restoration

• First, check for play or sticking in conjunction with the adjustment and seating surfaces. Replace a damaged bearing without striking the rolling components.
• Clean the seat and assemble the parts in the correct order. Apply force during insertion only to the ring that fits the seat, and observe the prescribed lubrication.
• After adjustment, check for smooth handlebar rotation and the absence of play. Overtightening will not fix a worn bearing.
