Superior Metal with round friction area

ULIP Superior Metal brake pads have orange holders, a round friction area, and an extended tab. The semi-metallic lining is intended for compatible calipers with the same shape; a flat separator spring is included.

Before replacement, compare the round section, tab, and rectangular opening for the spring. The separator spring must seat correctly and push the pads away from the disc.

Brake compound

The ULIP Superior Metal semi-metallic compound combines metal components and a binder. Metallic linings generally handle heat well during repetitive braking but can be noisier and cause more disc wear than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metallic pads and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads when braking performance decreases, there is uneven wear, or they become contaminated. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• According to the mechanical caliper instructions, remove the old pair and release the adjustment for the new pads. Install both pads and the separator spring, then adjust the gap at the disc. Do not grease friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and brake lever function. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
