Dual friction area for compatible Magura caliper

Each black backing plate features two separate friction areas and an extended upper tab. This design is intended for the compatible Magura MT5, MT5e, or MT7 caliper.

Features and fitment

  • Model: Focus JAM² FACTORY.
  • Black backing plates with two separate lining surfaces each.
  • Design for Magura MT5/MT7.

Before choosing, check the actual brake on the vehicle. The pads match the specified caliper design even for suitable upgrades, but they are not a direct replacement for pads from a different brand's stock brake.

Only for Magura MT5, MT5e, or MT7 calipers with the corresponding pad shape. If the vehicle has a different caliper, these pads are not a direct replacement.

Position: front only. The rear brake uses a different pad version.

Brake pad

The friction lining presses against the disc, and the carrier holds it in the correct position within the caliper. Replace both pads together if they are worn, damaged, or contaminated with oil. During installation, also check the safety clip and free wheel rotation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads when braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or contamination occurs. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the safety clip and the old pair. Follow the procedure for your caliper to prepare space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety clip. Do not apply grease to friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads by performing several gradual slow-downs in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
