Double friction area for compatible Magura caliper

Each black backing pad features two separate friction areas and an extended top tab. This design is intended for the compatible Magura MT5, MT5e, or MT7 caliper.

Features and fitment

  • Model: Focus THRON IMPULSE 27R 1.0.
  • Black backing pads with two separate lining surfaces on each.
  • Shape for Magura MT5/MT7.

Before selecting, check the actual brake on the vehicle. The pads correspond to the specified caliper shape, even with appropriate upgrades, but they are not an automatic replacement for original equipment brake pads from another brand.

Only for Magura MT5, MT5e, or MT7 calipers with the compatible pad shape. If the vehicle has a different caliper, these pads are not a direct replacement.

Brake lining

The friction material presses against the disc, and the backing plate holds it in the correct position within the caliper. Replace both pads together if they are worn, damaged, or contaminated with oil. During installation, also check the retaining pin and free wheel rotation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Following the procedure for your specific caliper, prepare the space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
