Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The pair of ULIP Sintered pads has bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction material, and upper mounting tabs. The entire contour of the pad measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The hole for the safety device has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and split pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper marking and the shape of the existing pads, especially for bicycles with different model years of equipment.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare the shape of D01S/D02S/D03S family pads.

Brake lining

Sintered metal lining generally handles heating and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, it can be louder and cause more wear to the disc. Use a disc that allows metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake instructions.
  • Remove the safety device and old pair. Following the procedure for your caliper, prepare space for the new pads, then insert the spring, new pair, and safety device. Do not grease friction surfaces.
  • Check for free rotation of the wheel and lever operation. Bed in new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
