Dual friction area for the correct Magura caliper

Each black backing plate features two separate friction areas and an extended top tab. This design is intended for the correct Magura MT5, MT5e, or MT7 caliper.

Features and fitment

  • Model: Focus THRON IMPULSE 27R SPEED.
  • Black backing plates with two separate friction areas on each.
  • Design for Magura MT5/MT7.

Before choosing, check the actual brake on the vehicle. The pads fit the specified caliper design even when upgraded correctly, but they are not an automatic replacement for pads of a different brake brand.

Only for Magura MT5, MT5e, or MT7 calipers with the correct pad shape. If the vehicle has a different caliper, these pads are not a direct replacement.

Brake pad compound

The friction compound presses against the disc, while the backing plate holds it in the correct position in the caliper. Replace both pads together if they are worn, damaged, or contaminated with oil. During installation, also check the retainer and wheel clearance.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the brake manual for the minimum allowable thickness.
  • Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel clearance and lever operation. Bed in new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
