Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair features bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction lining, and upper mounting eyelets. The total footprint of the pad is approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The opening for the retainer has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and a split pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially for bikes with different equipment model years.

Compatibility requirement: Installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare the shape with D01S/D02S/D03S family pads.

Brake pad material

Sintered metal pads generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. They may be noisier and cause more disc wear compared to organic pads. Use a brake disc compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if braking performance drops, wear is uneven, or contamination occurs. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum thickness in the brake manufacturer's manual.
  • Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check the wheel for free rotation and the lever for proper operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area without locking the wheel.
