Brake lining

The ULIP Superior Metal multi-metallic lining combines metallic components and binder. Metallic linings generally handle heat well during repeated braking, but can be louder and cause more wear to the disc than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metallic linings, and correctly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake instructions.
• Remove the safety device and old pair. Following the procedure for your caliper, prepare space for the new pads, then insert the spring, new pair, and safety device. Do not grease friction surfaces.
• Check for free rotation of the wheel and lever operation. Bed in new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
