Superior Metal in wide ZOOM shape

ULIP Superior Metal brake pads feature an orange backing plate, wide rectangular lining, and an upper mounting tab. The semi-metallic design is supplied as a pair with a spreader spring and cotter pin.

Dimensions are approx. 30.6 × 35.1 × 4 mm, and the safety pin hole diameter is approx. 3.3 mm. Check the exact caliper designation for the listed model version and the compatibility of the disc with the chosen lining.

This version requires a Shimano MT200 caliper. Compare the wide B-shape of the pads and the position of the safety pin.

Brake lining

The ULIP Superior Metal semi-metallic lining combines metallic components and a binder. Metal linings generally handle heat well during repetitive braking but can be noisier and wear the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc approved for metallic pads and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the safety pin and old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to your caliper procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not apply grease to friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel rotation and brake lever action. Bed in new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
