Brake pad composition

ULIP Superior Metal multi-metal pads combine metallic components and binder. Metallic pads generally handle heat well during repetitive braking but can be noisier and cause more disc wear than organic ones. Use a disc compatible with metallic pads, and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to begin

• Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and brake lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
