Superior Metal in wide ZOOM shape

ULIP Superior Metal brake pads feature an orange backing, a wide rectangular friction surface, and an upper mounting tab. The multi-metallic version is supplied as a pair with a spreader spring and a split pin.

Brake pad compound

The ULIP Superior Metal multi-metallic compound combines metallic components and a binder. Metallic pads typically handle heat well during repetitive braking, but may be noisier and wear the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc compatible with metallic pads and properly break in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to install

  • Inspect pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check the brake manual for the minimum allowable thickness.
  • Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel clearance and lever operation. Break in new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area without locking the wheel.
