Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair features bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction material, and upper mounting tabs. The overall pad outline measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The retaining pin hole has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and pad shape, especially for bikes with different model year specs.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare with D01S/D02S/D03S family pad shapes.

Brake pad

Sintered metal pads generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. They may be louder and cause more disc wear compared to organic pads. Use a disc that is compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if you experience poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
  • Remove the retaining clip and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check the wheel rotation and brake lever operation. Bed in new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
