Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair has bronze-colored backplates, a wide friction lining, and upper mounting tabs. The entire pad outline measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The opening for the safety pin has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before choosing, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially for bikes with different equipment years.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare the pad shape of the D01S/D02S/D03S family.

Brake lining

Sintered metallic lining generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, it can be noisier and wear out the disc more. Use a disc that allows metallic pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, or in case of uneven wear or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Follow the procedure for your caliper to clear space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Break in the new pads with several gradual slowdowns in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
