Superior Metal in wide ZOOM shape

ULIP Superior Metal brake pads feature an orange backing, a wide rectangular pad, and a top mounting tab. The metallic compound comes as a pair with a retaining spring and cotter pin.

Dimensions are approximately 30.6 × 35.1 × 4 mm, with a retaining pin hole diameter of about 3.3 mm. Check the exact caliper designation for your model and the suitability of the disc for the chosen pad.

This version requires a Shimano MT200 caliper. Compare the wide B-shape of the pads and the position of the locking pin.

Brake compound

The ULIP Superior Metal compound combines metallic components and a binder. Metallic pads generally handle the heat of repeated braking well, but they can be noisier and cause more disc wear than organic ones. Use a disc compatible with metallic pads, and bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, or if there is uneven wear or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the instructions for the minimum allowable thickness.
  • Remove the safety clip and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel rotation and lever feel. Bed in the new pads with several gradual slows in a safe area without locking the wheel.
