Superior Metal in wide ZOOM shape

ULIP Superior Metal brake pads feature an orange back, a wide rectangular lining, and an upper mounting tab. The metallic construction is supplied as a pair with a retaining spring and cotter pin.

This version requires a Shimano MT200 caliper. Compare the wide B-shape of the pads and the position of the safety pin.

Brake lining

The ULIP Superior Metal lining combines metallic components and a binder. Metallic linings generally handle heat well during repetitive braking, but they can be noisier and wear out the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc compatible with metallic pads, and bed in the new pair properly after installation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, new pair, and safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel movement and lever operation. Bed in new pads with multiple gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
