Brake compound

Sintered metal compound generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic pads, they can be noisier and may cause more wear to the brake disc. Use a disc rated for metallic pads.

When to replace and how to install

• Inspect the pads if you experience reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not lubricate the friction surfaces.
• Check that the wheel spins freely and that the lever functions correctly. Bed in the new pads with several progressive stops in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
