Wide ULIP sintered brake pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair features bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction surface, and top mounting tabs. The overall pad outline measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The retaining pin hole has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and a split pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially for bicycles with different model years of equipment.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare with the shape of D01S/D02S/D03S family pads.

Brake pad material

Sintered metal pads generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic pads, they can be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that is compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in your brake manual.
  • Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel clearance and brake lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
