Wide ULIP sintered pads in ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair features bronze-colored backings, a wide friction material, and top mounting tabs. The overall pad profile measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The opening for the safety pin has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before choosing, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of the existing pads, especially for bikes with different years of equipment.

Compatibility condition: Shimano BR-MT420 caliper installed. Also compare the D01S/D02S/D03S pad family shape.

Brake compound

Sintered metallic compound generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, it can be noisier and cause more disc wear. Use a disc rated for metallic pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
  • Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check the free rotation of the wheel and the lever function. Bed in the new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
