Brake compound

Sintered metal compound generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, it may be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that is compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check wheel free rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
