Superior Metal in wide ZOOM shape

The ULIP Superior Metal brake pads have an orange backing, a wide rectangular friction surface, and a top mounting tab. The multi-metal design is supplied as a pair with a separator spring and a cotter pin.

The dimensions are approximately 30.6 × 35.1 × 4 mm, and the hole for the retaining pin is approximately 3.3 mm. Check the exact caliper designation for the specified model and ensure the disc is suitable for the chosen pad material.

This version requires a Shimano MT200 caliper. Compare the wide B-shape of the pads and the position of the retaining pin.

Brake pad material

The ULIP Superior Metal multi-metal pad combines metallic components and a binder. Metal pads generally handle heat well under repeated braking, but they can be noisier and wear the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc compatible with metal pads and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if you experience poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowable thickness in the brake manufacturer's manual.
  • Remove the retaining clip and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel rotation and brake lever feel. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area without locking the wheel.
