Wide sintered ULIP pads with ZEE M640 shape

The pair of ULIP Sintered has bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction lining, and top mounting ears. The entire pad outline measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The hole for the retainer has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and a cotter pin are included. Before choosing, compare the exact caliper marking and the shape of the existing pads, especially on bikes with different equipment years.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare the pad shape of the D01S/D02S/D03S family.

Brake lining

Sintered metal lining generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, it can be noisier and wear down the disc more. Use a disc that allows metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of poor braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check the free rotation of the wheel and the operation of the lever. Break in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
