Brake pads

ULIP Superior Metal semi-metallic pads combine metallic components and a binder. Metallic pads generally handle heat well during repetitive braking, but they can be noisier and wear the disc more than organic pads. Use a disc compatible with metallic pads, and break in the new pair properly after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check the wheel for free rotation and test the lever. Break in the new pads by performing several gradual decelerations in a safe area without locking the wheel.
