The safety pin opening has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially on bicycles with different model years of equipment.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare the shape of D01S/D02S/D03S family pads.

Brake compound

Sintered metal compound generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, it can be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that allows for metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowable thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the safety clip and the old pair. After the procedure for your caliper, prepare the space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check the wheel's free play and lever operation. Bed in new pads with several gradual slow-downs in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
