Brake pad material

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if braking performance drops, wear is uneven, or contamination occurs. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum thickness in the brake manufacturer's manual.
• Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check the wheel for free rotation and the lever for proper operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area without locking the wheel.
