The opening for the safety pin has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of your existing pads, especially for bikes with different equipment model years.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT520 caliper. Also compare with the D01S/D02S/D03S pad family shape.

Brake pad material

Sintered metal pads generally handle heating and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic pads, they may be noisier and cause more wear to the disc. Use a disc that allows the use of metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. According to the procedure for your caliper, prepare the space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check the wheel for free rotation and test the lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
