Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The pair of ULIP Sintered pads features bronze-colored backplates, a wide friction material, and top mounting tabs. The overall pad outline measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The hole for the retainer has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and split pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially on bicycles with different model years of equipment.

Compatibility condition: Shimano BR-M8120 caliper installed. Also compare with the shape of the D01S/D02S/D03S pad family.

Brake pad material

Sintered metal pads generally handle heating and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, they may be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that allows metallic pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if you notice poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel free rotation and lever operation. Bed in new pads with multiple gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
