Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The pair of ULIP Sintered pads has bronze-colored backplates, a wide friction surface, and two upper mounting tabs. The overall pad outline measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The retaining pin hole has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before choosing, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially for bicycles with different model years of equipment.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT520 caliper. Also compare with the D01S/D02S/D03S family pad shapes.

Brake compound

Sintered metal compound generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, it can be noisier and causes more wear on the disc. Use a disc that allows for metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in new pads with multiple gradual stops in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
