Brake Pad Compound

Sintered metal compound generally handles heating and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, it can be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that allows for metal brake pads.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the retaining clip and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
