Wide ULIP sintered brake pads with ZEE M640 shape

The pair of ULIP Sintered pads features bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction surface, and upper mounting tabs. The overall outline of the pad measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The hole for the safety pin has a diameter of approx. 3.4 mm; spring and split pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper model and the shape of the existing pads, especially for bikes with different model years.

Compatibility condition: Shimano BR-M8120 caliper installed. Also compare the pad shape of the D01S/D02S/D03S family.

Brake pad compound

Sintered metal compound generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic pads, they may be louder and cause more wear on the disc. Use a disc that is compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel free rotation and lever operation. Bed in new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
