Brake pad material

Sintered metal linings generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. They may be noisier and cause more disc wear compared to organic pads. Use a disc that allows metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

• Check pads if braking performance drops, wear is uneven, or contamination is present. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check the manual for the minimum allowable thickness.
• Remove the retaining clip and the old pair. Prepare space for new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining clip. Do not grease friction surfaces.
• Check for wheel free rotation and brake lever operation. Bed in the new pads by performing several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
