Dual friction area for compatible Magura calipers

Each black backing plate features two separate friction areas and an extended upper tab. This design is intended for compatible Magura MT5, MT5e, or MT7 calipers.

Check the actual brake on your vehicle before choosing. The pads fit the specified caliper shape, even if upgraded, but are not a direct replacement for stock brake pads of a different brand.

For Magura MT5, MT5e, or MT7 calipers only with the compatible pad shape. If your vehicle has a different caliper, these pads are not a direct replacement.

Brake pad

The friction lining presses against the disc, while the backing plate holds it in the correct position within the caliper. Replace both pads together if they are worn, damaged, or contaminated with oil. When installing, also check the retaining clip and ensure the wheel rotates freely.

When to replace and how to begin

  • Inspect the pads if braking performance drops, wear is uneven, or they become contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowable thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the retaining clip and the old pair. Following the procedure for your specific caliper, prepare the space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining clip. Do not apply grease to the friction surfaces.
  • Check that the wheel spins freely and the brake lever operates correctly. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
