Wide ULIP sintered brake pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair features bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction surface, and top mounting tabs. The overall outline of the pad measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The safety pin hole has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of the existing pads, especially for bicycles with different model years of equipment.

Compatibility condition: Shimano BR-M6120 caliper installed. Also compare with the pad shape of the D01S/D02S/D03S family.

Friction material

Sintered metal pads generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic pads, they can be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that allows metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if braking is poor, uneven wear is present, or if they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in your brake manual.
  • Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to your caliper procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check the free movement of the wheel and the lever function. Bed in the new pads by performing several gradual decelerations in a safe location without locking the wheel.
