Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair features bronze-colored carriers, a wide friction surface, and top mounting tabs. The overall pad outline measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The hole for the retaining clip has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially for bikes with different model years of components.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare the D01S/D02S/D03S family pad shape.

Brake pad

Sintered metal pads generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, they may be louder and wear the disc faster. Use a disc that allows for metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in your brake manual.
  • Remove the retaining clip and the old pair. After following the procedure for your specific caliper to create space for new pads, insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check the free rotation of the wheel and the lever feel. Break in new pads with multiple gradual stops in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
