The retaining pin hole has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and split pin are included. Before choosing, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of your existing pads, especially for bikes with different model years of equipment.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare with the shape of D01S/D02S/D03S family pads.

Brake lining

Sintered metal linings generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, they may be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that is compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

• Check pads if braking is poor, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in your brake manual.
• Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads following your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease friction surfaces.
• Check wheel free play and lever function. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
