The retaining pin opening is approximately 3.4 mm in diameter; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before selection, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially for bikes with different model years of equipment.

Brake pad composition

Sintered metal compound generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic pads, it may be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or contamination is present. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the retaining clip and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retaining clip. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check wheel free rotation and lever operation. Break in new pads with multiple gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
