Brake pad compound

Sintered metal pads generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic pads, they may be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc rotor compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect pads if braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the brake manual for the minimum allowable thickness.
• Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease friction surfaces.
• Check wheel clearance and lever operation. Bed in new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
