The opening for the retaining pin has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and a split pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially for bicycles with different model years of equipment.

Brake pad material

Sintered metal pads generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic pads, they may be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that is compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect pads if braking is poor, wear is uneven, or if they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your specific caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel movement and lever operation. Bed in the new pads by performing multiple gradual decelerations in a safe location without locking the wheel.
