Brake compound

The ULIP Superior Metal semi-metallic compound combines metallic ingredients and a resin binder. Metallic pads generally handle heat well under repeated braking, but they may be noisier and wear the disc faster than organic ones. Use a disc rated for metallic pads and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads if you notice poor braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check your brake manual for the minimum allowed thickness.
• Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, new pair, and safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads by performing several gradual decelerations in a safe area without locking the wheel.
