Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The pair of ULIP Sintered pads features bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction material, and top mounting tabs. The overall outline of the pad measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, and the thickness is 4.1 mm.

The safety pin hole has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and split pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper code and the shape of existing pads, especially for bikes with different equipment years.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare the pad shape of the D01S/D02S/D03S family.

Brake pad

Sintered metal pads generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, they can be noisier and wear down the disc more. Use a disc that is rated for metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads when braking performance decreases, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake instructions.
  • Remove the safety clip and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety clip. Do not grease friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
