Wide sintered ULIP pads with ZEE M640 shape

The pair of ULIP Sintered pads features bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction surface, and top mounting tabs. The overall pad profile measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The safety pin hole is approximately 3.4 mm in diameter; spring and cotter pin are included. Before choosing, compare the exact caliper code and the shape of your existing pads, especially for bikes with different equipment model years.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare with the shape of D01S/D02S/D03S family pads.

Brake pad composition

Sintered metal pads generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic ones, they may be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that is compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if you notice poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in your brake manual.
  • Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Follow the procedure for your specific caliper to create space for the new pads, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel clearance and lever operation. Break in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area without locking the wheel.
