Brake compound

The ULIP Superior Metal semi-metallic compound combines metal components and a binder. Metallic linings generally handle heat well during repetitive braking but can be noisier and cause more disc wear than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metallic pads and properly bed in the new pair after installation.

When to replace and how to start

• Inspect the pads when braking performance decreases, there is uneven wear, or they become contaminated. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
• Remove the retaining pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the pin. Do not grease friction surfaces.
• Check for free wheel rotation and brake lever function. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
