Superior Metal in a wide shape ZOOM

ULIP Superior Metal brake pads have an orange back, a wide rectangular lining, and an upper mounting tab. The semi-metallic version is supplied as a pair with a separation spring and a cotter pin.

  • Retaining pin hole diameter: 3.3 mm.

Dimensions are approximately 30.6 × 35.1 × 4 mm, and the diameter of the hole for the safety pin is approximately 3.3 mm. Check the exact caliper marking of the specified model version and the suitability of the disc for the selected pad.

This version requires a Shimano MT200 caliper. Compare the wide B-shape of the pads and the position of the safety pin.

Brake lining

The ULIP Superior Metal semi-metallic lining combines metallic components and a binder. Metal linings generally handle heating well during repeated braking, but they can be louder and wear the disc more than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metal linings, and break in the new pair properly after installation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads for poor braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowable thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check the free movement of the wheel and the operation of the lever. Break in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
