Superior Metal in wide ZOOM shape

ULIP Superior Metal brake pads have an orange backing, a wide rectangular pad, and an upper mounting tab. The multi-metal version is supplied as a pair with a spreader spring and a cotter pin.

Brake pad compound

The ULIP Superior Metal multi-metal compound combines metallic components and a binder. Metallic pads generally handle the heat from repeated braking well but may be noisier and cause more disc wear than organic ones. Use a disc that allows metallic pads, and bed in the new pair properly after installation.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of poor braking, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum permitted thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check the wheel for free rotation and lever function. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
