Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The pair of ULIP Sintered pads features bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction surface, and upper mounting tabs. The overall outline of the pad measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The cotter pin hole has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially for bikes with different model years of equipment.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also compare the shape of D01S/D02S/D03S family pads.

Brake pad material

Sintered metal pads generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, they may be noisier and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that allows for metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake instructions.
  • Remove the retainer and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to the procedure for your caliper, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the retainer. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel rotation and brake lever function. Break in the new pads with multiple gradual decelerations in a safe area, without locking the wheel.
