Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair features bronze-colored backings, a wide friction surface, and upper mounting tabs. The overall outline of the pad measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The retaining pin hole has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; spring and cotter pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of the existing pads, especially for bikes with different model years of components.

Compatibility condition: Shimano BR-MT420 caliper installed. Also compare with the shape of the D01S/D02S/D03S pad family.

Brake pad compound

Sintered metal compound generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic, it can be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc that allows metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads in case of reduced braking performance, uneven wear, or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the safety device and the old pair. Prepare space for new pads according to your caliper procedure, then insert the spring, new pair, and safety device. Do not grease friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel free spin and lever operation. Bed in new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe place, without locking the wheel.
