ULIP wide sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair features bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction lining, and top mounting tabs. The overall pad outline measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The safety pin hole has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and split pin are included. Before selecting, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of existing pads, especially for bikes with different model years of components.

Compatibility condition: installed Shimano BR-MT420 caliper. Also, compare with the D01S/D02S/D03S pad family shape.

Brake lining

Sintered metal linings generally handle heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic pads, they may be louder and cause more disc wear. Use a disc compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if braking performance drops, wear is uneven, or they are contaminated. Always replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in the brake manual.
  • Remove the safety pin and the old pair. Prepare space for the new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the safety pin. Do not grease friction surfaces.
  • Check wheel rotation and lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual decelerations in a safe location, without locking the wheel.
