Wide ULIP sintered pads with ZEE M640 shape

The ULIP Sintered pair features bronze-colored backing plates, a wide friction surface, and top mounting tabs. The overall pad outline measures approximately 39.4 × 24.5 mm, with a thickness of 4.1 mm.

The hole for the locking pin has a diameter of approximately 3.4 mm; a spring and cotter pin are included. Before choosing, compare the exact caliper designation and the shape of your existing pads, especially for bikes with different model years of components.

Compatibility condition: Shimano BR-MT420 caliper installed. Also, compare with the shape of the D01S/D02S/D03S pad family.

Brake compound

Sintered metal compound generally handles heat and wear well in wet conditions. Compared to organic pads, it can be noisier and cause more disc wear. Ensure your disc is compatible with metal pads.

When to replace and how to start

  • Inspect the pads if braking performance decreases, or if there is uneven wear or contamination. Replace both pads in the same caliper; check the minimum allowed thickness in your brake instructions.
  • Remove the locking pin and the old pair. Prepare the space for new pads according to your caliper's procedure, then insert the spring, the new pair, and the locking pin. Do not grease the friction surfaces.
  • Check for free wheel rotation and brake lever operation. Bed in the new pads with several gradual stops in a safe area, without locking the wheels.
